In july I was asked by Joanne Renaud (aka *suburbanbeatnik), one of the editors of Dark Valentine magazine if I would like to draw an artwork for the story April Love.
The story is set in the 1850s, and it's about an artist who kills the low-class boyfriend of the girl that he's painting.
I finished this in july but now that the autumn issue is out, featuring this story and my artwork I was able to submit it here on DeviantArt.

Lovely scene and nise eye for detail in the chain, buttons and knife. <3 flowy skirt

Just one thing... Wouldn't a real dandy have a handkerchief to clean his knife with? Or did he use that to clean off his hands after he buried the body?

I think he would throw the knife away in disgust, or rather he would not be able to kill someone because it is such a bloody mess
